so like, why can't we make social media better?
Seriously, I don't see what's stopping us. We don't have to use Facebook or X or anything else, really. I would love to see an indie-web take on social media which intentionally adopts the best tech and ideas from the early social media era. There were so many cool things about Tumblr, Myspace, Twitter in the early days - nothing stopping a motivated person from finding a funky new niche to fill with a site that borrows many of those concepts and fine-tunes them for the modern era.
Hell, even Digg was pretty cool.
